I've never had cat allergies and now i have a new kitten and i have bad allergies what could it be?

I've had cats all my life and ive never been bothered by cat allergies but now i have a new kitten and my eyes are swelling up and i cant stop sneezing and i broke out with red blotches all over and i feel congestion all over...but i have been congested and been sneezing for the past few days what could i do?
