I just purchased Hoodia from an American site...?

My umption is if the necessary paperwork is in place and the authorities in Australia recognize the certificate you should be cool. My concern is that these were purchased over the web. Too often companies put on a good front when in fact they are dubious and illegal. Good luck hope you get the Hoodia. Let us know if you did and how it works.
