Light is not light and sound is not sound?

This is the idea that the physical world stimulates perception but is not perception. Consider that the light perception can be induced in several ways: from electromagnetic waves, from direct neural stimulation, from some mental states, from chemical stimulation... Based on these facts light is not in the electromagnetic waves nor in the sensory system nor in the chemical compounds but somehow in the interpretation of some physical stimuli in the brain. The same also occurs for the sound or any other form of mental state. Basically we are trapped in a world that is not physically explainable and yet physically related. Can you perceive the paradox?
