How do you stop likeing a guy??And just look at him as a friend?? Pleasee helppp:)?

Theres this guy who likes me but he hasnt asked me out and we dont txt tht much but we hangout.But I cnt go on like this..waiting and waiting..im just so fed up :/ if I just look at him as a friend,things would be easier for me.riight??.im soo sick of thinking about him and im so sick of thinking when he will ask me out..I need help please?? he is very nice to me and likes me alot but what I want..just is not happening..:/ Right now I just want to look at him as a friend..not a bf so I dont get hurt :/
