Sleep around to remain civil around the person you love?

I am at a top business school program. One of my friends there is a very pretty and y woman. She is engaging and vivacious and some time flirtuous. But she is not promiscuous and won't sleep with guys until there is a relationship. Many guys are pursuing her. And the guys she is interested in also have a lot women after them. Because she doesn't sleep around, those guys all sleep with these easier catches while pursuing her. She told me that because of the fact the guys slept with other girls in the program, she doesn't feel they are good for her. But the guys told me that, because the attraction to her is so strong that they have to sleep with others while pursuing her so they could get over their urge and remain civil around her. My friend is flirtuous and y but not slutty in any way. Many guys look at her with desire. Does that mean they have to get from other places while pursuing her since she won't sleep with them?
