What if your phobic pastor turned out to be gay?

I was watching a doentary today called "Jesus Camp". It featured a little bit of the infamous Evangelical pastor Ted Haggard. I looked him up and it said that he was going to try to open his own new Evangelical church in Colorado Springs. If he spoke out against ity and then turned out to have had an affair with a man, how does that make him not be a hypocrite?
